Bonivital Soccer - Covid-19 Update March 29, 2020

Members,

Over the last while we have all had to face stress and uncertainty due to the Covid-19 virus.
For most of us, our lives have been put on hold, and that includes all of us at Bonivital Soccer.

We have closed the clubhouse until further notice, suspended most operations, and for now are
working as best we can from home.

With the Outdoor season due to kick off soon, and while we await notification and direction
from the governing bodies of soccer, the Manitoba Soccer Association and Canada Soccer
Association, we thought it prudent to try and address some of your concerns and answer what we
believe would be logical questions that most might have at this time.

If the 2020 Outdoor season is postponed and you have paid in full online...if necessary we will
be pro-rating the fees accordingly and will process partial refunds.

If the 2020 Outdoor season is postponed and you have already made your first installment
payment...we will be putting all future installment payments on hold until we have received
notification regarding the season, and if necessary we will adjust dates and amounts of future
payments accordingly.

If you have not yet registered and require either KidSport or want to put an Installment
Payment Plan in place...we have put both on hold for now pending notification from the MSA,
CSA, and Sport Manitoba. We will send notifications to the families once we have updates. We
have been keeping a log of those that have inquired.

If you have not yet registered and were planning on doing that soon…please postpone
registering until we have more information.

If the 2020 Outdoor season is cancelled in its entirety (which is not likely to happen, but
something we must consider)...full refunds will be issued, or you will be given the option of
deferring and using that payment toward the 20/21 indoor season.

And lastly…we ask for everyone’s patience during these uncertain times. We are as stressed and
worried as you, and we are committed to be there for you when we have more information and
can offer guidance based on that information.
Hopefully that puts your minds at ease and answers some of your questions. In the meantime,
please continue to monitor our website for updates. When we know…you’ll know!

Take care and be well,

The staff at Bonivital Soccer Club.

Bonivital Soccer Annual General Meeting UPDATE

Bonivital Soccer Association ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Update

March 25, 2020

Dear Members,

The unfolding coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis has significantly affected the world we live in. As destinations work to contain the spread of the virus, many countries, states, provinces and cities have banned large events. On March 15, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a guidance that all large events and mass gatherings of more than 50 people be suspended for at least eight weeks. "Large events and mass gatherings can contribute to the spread of COVID-19 in Canada via travelers who attend these events and introduce the virus to new communities". Examples of large events and mass gatherings include conferences, festivals, parades, concerts, sporting events, weddings, and other types of assemblies.

We in Winnipeg are not immune. Many, if not all of our members are under some sort of isolation. Social distancing has become one of the best ways to prevent the virus from spreading.

To that end, the Bonivital Soccer Association must announce that our Annual General Meeting, originally scheduled for Sunday, April 19, 2020 has been postponed until such a time as it is safe to do so. The health and well-being of our members and families is paramount. Bonivital Soccer will endeavor to reschedule the AGM at the earliest possible time.

Once it is deemed safe to do so, we will reissue our AGM notice, which will then take place 21 days after the announcement is made.

We appreciate your understanding in these trying times.

Bonivital Soccer Association hope you all stay healthy and safe.

Sincerely,

Jeff Mann

Executive Director

Bonivital Soccer Association

Club Statement Regarding WYSA's New Open Boundaries Policy

Friday, February 28, 2020

Dear Members,

As most of you know, the Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association yesterday removed the geographic restrictions within the Developmental and Premier Leagues. This decision has come as the result of a vote that was taken within the member clubs of WYSA, which are Winnipeg South End United, FC Northwest, St. Charles Soccer Association, Phoenix Football Club and the Bonivital Soccer Association.

Bonivital Soccer and its Board of Directors have agreed that we as a club will be honouring our current complete registrations and team selections for the 2020 outdoor season. We feel that our staff, players and families are in a very strong position within the soccer community, and as such we welcome the new opportunities that an “open borders” system will afford us as a club.

You may wonder about how this will affect us as a soccer club going forward. We will be re- examining how we can use the new guidelines to create a new player intake system. We must undertake our due diligence to ensure that we fully understand the implications of these changes as they relate to the girls, boys and families that call Bonivital Soccer home.

If we embrace change and always look forward, the future will be very exciting as members of the Bonivital Soccer Club.

As more information becomes available, we will make further announcements at the appropriate times.

Sincerely,

Bonivital Soccer

EVALUATIONS - GENERAL INFORMATION

Throughout the year BVSC Technical staff are constantly evaluating current players at games, academies and training sessions. BVSC coaches also provide written evaluations on players during both the indoor and the outdoor seasons. The evaluations in January and February are merely one of several means of evaluating players.

All players are expected to attend the scheduled sessions for their age group. Missing an evaluation may jeopardize a players’ chance of being selected for a Developmental or Premier team. Additional sessions may be scheduled for invited players only should the technical staff require them to complete their assessments.

All players must attend the sessions for their own age. regardless of where they have played in past seasons. Under certain circumstances, Bonivital technical staff may allow a player who cannot attend their own session to attend that of an older or younger age group.

At the Developmental levels (ages 9 to 12) Bonivital can accept a maximum of 42 players (per age/per gender). Based on the number of players and the ability of the players in an age group, the technical staff will determine how many teams will be formed and how many players will be placed on each team. The technical staff, in consultation with the coaches of each age group, will make selections for each age group. All decisions are final and there is no appeal process.

At Premier 1 and Premier 2 competitive levels (ages 13 to 17), players will be placed in one of these two divisions based on ability. The technical staff, in consultation with the coaches, will make selections. All decisions are final and there will be no appeals.

Bonivital Soccer Club will not entertain requests from parents to have their child placed on a certain team or with certain players or coaches.
