Madox's Warriors!

Bonivital parents, players and friends!!

We are inviting you to join us at our charity event this year called Madox’s Warriors Superhero 5K. This run/walk raises awareness and funds that go directly to DIPG and other Childhood Brain Cancer research. We lost our son Madox in 2014 to DIPG, a brain cancer with no survival. We started this charity to help future children and families receive better treatment and outcome than our son Madox did. All funds we raise through our events go directly to research.

The Superhero 5K will be held on September 7th at Assiniboine Park. Race time is 8:30am. Last year we had 2 Bonivital teams participate; Coach Mazza U14 PR1 boys and Coach Nordman U14 PR2 boys. Both teams either walked together the full 5K or raced each other with a healthy competition of who will take top spot. Our top winner was Coach Kris Nordman winning the entire race, well ahead of the pack.

We are asking if any other Bonivital staff and teams would be interested in joining; not only to support a local charity, but also as a team building opportunity. We have been with the Bonivital soccer family for years, with our son Valin who currently plays on Coach Mazza’s U15 PR1 team.

BVSC Men's Team Makes Cup Final for the First Time!

Bonivital United of the Manitoba Major Soccer League's Premier Division are going to the MSA Cup finals for the first time in team history with a hard fought semi-final win over Ital-Inter, 1-0 on Saturday night.

BVSC United entered the MMSL in 2003 as a Third Division team and climbed the promotion ladder to the Premier Division in 2016. BVSC United was playing Ital-Inter for the third time this season with both League matches ending in 2-2 draws.

United’s starting 11 featured Goalkeeper Scott Smoke, Fullbacks Evan Berube (BVSC '98),Thomas Boles (BVSC 2000), Centrebacks Brandon Labonte and Patrick Smoke, midfielders Kris Nordman (BVSC '90), Cam Cerasani (BVSC '92), Juyi Iyda, Val Kornilov, Dallas Friesen (BVSC '89), and Striker Ivan Garcia (BVSC '87).

Head coach Greg Nordman was forced to use a sub card early in the game when Cerasani took an elbow to the face and was forced to leave the match. Andrew Patton (BVSC '90), took over for the rest of the half that ended 0-0. To begin the second half Nick Zachanowich replaced Friesen , Caleb Loewen (BVSC 2000), moved into the midfield for Kornilov and Cerasani went back in for Garcia. Both teams traded chances but it took Amour who subbed Patton out at the 72 minute mark to ignite the BVSC United attack, first when he set up Iyda on a near miss inside the penalty area and then, when it looked like the game would be heading to overtime, he hit the mark at the 86th minute, scoring his first goal in the Cup and second goal of the season. Ital-Inter pressed hard in the dying minutes of the match but couldn't dent the BVSC United defence and 'keeper Scott Smoke earned his second clean sheet in the 2019 MSA Cup Competition.

Bonivital will meet 2-time National Champions Winnipeg Lions FC, winners of the MSA Cup in 6 of the past 7 seasons in the Finals at the Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex, July 27 for a 7:00 kickoff.

Don't forget to register for our Day Camp hosted by our very own BVSC United Men's Team. All information can be found under the Summer Camps banner!
