U9 Girls Dreger
Two wins a tie in the round robin earned the team a spot in the final against undefeated Yorkton FC team from Saskatchewan. With just five minutes left the BVSC girls were down 2-0 but didn't give up, scoring two quick goals before time expired. After a scoreless extra time, the Flames won in a thrilling shootout 5-4!

"I am very proud of this team. They found themselves down on the scoreboard three of the four games and each time they came back to win. Their positive attitude and great team work was the reason they finished the tournament as champions," said coach Steve Dreger.

2016 Club Nationals - An Extraordinary Year

In October Bonivital Soccer Club fielded an unprecedented five teams in the 2016 Club Nationals tournaments held across Canada  All five of our teams performed well in their respective locations.

U14 Boys and U14 Girls

The U14 Boys earned a bronze medal, defeating Alberta 1-0 in the final game. The U14 Girls were unfortunate to only get 5th. In our big game against Ontario we lead for most of the match. A late equalizer by Ontraio knocked us out of the Bronze medal game on goal difference.

The U16 Boys were the class of their group and made it all the way to the gold medal game after a thrilling 1-0 win over Ontario. Playing the rescheduled final in Saskatoon, we hit the bar twice and had a goal disallowed and unfortunately lost 1-0. The U15 Girls would have played for 5th but got snowed out.

The U18 boys made it to the bronze medal game and were unfortunate to lose to BC in a very close game.

These results are outstanding with all five  teams finishing no lower than 5th and three teams playing for medals. No other club in the country managed this. Congratulations to all coaches, players and managers involved with these teams for the class, effort and and belief they showed.

Club Nationals Silver Medalists

The Bonivital Soccer U16 PR1 Boys team, led by coach Tony Mazza, faced Edmonton Juventus in Saskatoon on Saturday, October 22, 2016 in the Gold Medal match for the Sportchek Club Nationals Championship. On this frigid day, David Doe of Edmonton as well as the U17 National team, chipped in a goal at the 20 minute mark. The rest of the match featured many chances on both sides, including a goal by Bonivital that was called off by the referee. Unfortunately the game ended with a score of 1 - 0 for Edmonton, but a solid performance for the Bonivital team. Congratulations!

Bonivital Soccer Club is proud to be one of the first in the nation to adopt the new Preferred Training Model. The new Preferred Training Model is designed to completely revamp the way we train our players in the golden years of learning at the learn to Train stage between 8 and 12. The model incorporates all facets of the game and is designed to affect the four corners of development with soccer movement and physical coordination at its core, with elements of technical development in the technique and skills station and tactical development in the small sided games area.

Please watch our video to see the Preferred Training Model in action:
